Subject: Antony White

I have some sad news to pass on to the EM community. My friend and colleague, Antony White, from the Flinders University of South Australia died on Friday 22nd June from a heart attack. It was most unexpected, as Antony had been very fit and healthy, and was looking forward to retirement plans in the next few years. Many of you will know Antony from his work on marine MT, and his contributions to various projects including EMSLAB, MELT and the recent seafloor experiment across the Mariana Trench. He managed to maintain a marine geophysical research group in Australia for 30 years, quite an achievement.

He lived life to the full, and will be missed by all his colleagues and friends; our thoughts are with his wife Dianne, and their six children Simon, Catherine, Helen, Michael, Anna and Bridget.

I will write a longer piece on Antony's contributions to the EM community for the "In memoriam" section of MTNet over the next few weeks.
