Communication from Baldev Arora: 31 March 2011

We the Indian EM community is sad to inform that one of our senior scientist, Dr.B.J. Srivastava, who was the Head of the Hyderabad Magnetic Observatory at NGRI, passed away in the afternoon of March 20, 2011.

Dr Srivasatva was pioneer worker who used geomagnetic observatory records effectively to infer anomalous conductive structure in and around Indian peninsula. This work laid foundation for the more organised array study in India which he meticulouly plannned and supervised. To his credit he has published number of research publications related to geomagnetic induction and solar-terrestrial relations and maintained the observatory records with high quality.
