MTNet: Majordomo Mailing List Page

An automatic mailing list for MTNet is maintained using the software Majordomo from Great Circle Associates.
For more information, read the README file, the help file, and the FAQ file.

MTNet subscription will keep you informed of all activities of the IAGA working group. It is useful for all those who have an interest in EM exploration of the Earth.
If you wish to see previous postings, please look here.

Subscribing

To subscribe to MTNet send an email to majordomo@cg.nrcan.gc.ca with the words

subscribe mtnet

in the body of the text. You will receive an acknowledgement and instructions on how to unsubscribe.
Note that this only works if you have a valid "Reply-To" address.

If you wish to subscribe with a different address from your Reply-To, then use the format:

subscribe mtnet your_email@domain.xxx

replacing "your_email@domain.xxx" with the email address you want.

Important note: If you wish to subscribe using a non-institutional email address, such as hotmail, yahoo, etc., please add to your email a brief description of who you are and why you wish to join MTNet. This is to protect the list from potential spammers.

Subscription to the list is "moderated", which means that I approve all subscribers. If you request to be added to the list with an email that is not an institutional one (such as hotmail), please do not be annoyed if I ask you for your rationale for joining the list. This is to avoid spammers getting onto the list and bothering us all.

Sending a message to all subscribers

Once you are registered as a valid member of the MTNet mailing list, you can send a message to all subscribers of MTNet by sending a message to mtnet@mtnet.info.

Due to the large amount of spam mail that was getting through, and due to some inappropriate messages, sending messages is now (reluctantly) moderated, i.e., after sending a message I will be asked to authorize it for distribution. Some rules:
1. Do not send out messages to this list except when you are sure that many of your colleagues worldwide will want to know what you have to say. If your message is just for one country or one region, please send it to the individual members.
2. Inappropriate content will not be distributed - political or religious remarks will certainly not be forwarded around the community.
3. Commercial messages, except job advertisements or information that is not-for-profit (e.g., offer of data or software for free), are not appropriate.
4. No attachments allowed, of any kind.
5. Compose your email in plain ASCII. Do NOT send a file directly from programs such as Word or WordPerfect, or with HTML formatting. Many of us either do not have the appropriate word processing software or have problems decoding the attachments, nor indeed the time to do so.

To obtain a list of all subscribers to MTNet, send an email to majordomo@cg.nrcan.gc.ca with the words

in the body of the text.

You have to be a valid member of the list to use this feature.
